Through my work with Norwex, I’ve had the good fortune to meet the most incredible people. (I’m doubly blessed because so many of them collaborate with me on a daily basis as members of my Go Green Team!)

Independent Norwex Consultants come from cities, towns and villages from all corners of the country and all backgrounds. They find their way to Norwex for a variety of reasons. A concern for the environment, an interest in a healthy, sustainable lifestyle, a desire to save time and money on cleaning, or a need to earn income on a flexible schedule, may drive their decision to sign on.

The one thing we all have in common, though, is that we get so much more out of our experience than we ever expected including being part of a great community and having a lot of fun while sharing our passion for Norwex’s products and mission and creating safe havens.

If you are considering a career with Norwex, I encourage you to be inspired by the experiences shared by the consultants and leaders in the Go Green Team. You’ll find that they started out with the same concerns and questions you may have, and overcame them to build thriving businesses and change their lives.

Norwex title: Senior Executive Sales Leader

Where to find me online: andreamcnally.norwex.biz

When I joined Norwex: Since March 2012

Where I live now, and where I’m originally from: I am from central Illinois — and I am still here!

How and why I started selling Norwex: I was shocked when I discovered the Norwex cloth worked better than any other cleansers and cleaning tools I had ever used. I had fun telling others about this seemingly magical cloth and figured I might as well get paid for all of the talking I was doing because I couldn’t help but share anyway.
What has surprised me most in my Norwex journey: I was always really skeptical of party-planning companies and presumed the products being sold were probably not so great. But as I got to know Norwex products and understood how effective they were, I also began to appreciate how they’re sold through events. People can connect in more meaningful and personal ways, ask questions and share insights.

The most difficult challenge I’ve faced to get to where I am within Norwex — and how I overcame it
I had been a stay-at-home mom before becoming a Norwex consultant. My family was resistant when I began to work, but I stayed the course and also worked to help them see why my business was important not only to me, but to us. I try to provide opportunities to involve my children to help them understand the basics of business ownership, to set realistic expectations and to develop habits that are good for health and the environment. My husband is also a Norwex fan and appreciates how my business contributes to our household income.

The one piece of advice I have for a beginner consultant that I wish I’d had — or had taken more to heart:
Customers really will appreciate your recommendations. It took me awhile to realize that I am, indeed, the expert who can help clients by getting to know them and their unique needs, narrowing sales information so it applies directly to them and their households, and giving them clear and focused guidance. My job is to help people acquire what they need in their homes. It is not simply to sell the basics or push the latest product specials. I have found that people need more to make meaningful transitions to chemical-free cleaning and that they appreciate customized recommendations.
When it comes to working with hosts, I have learned that it’s all right to tell them what I need from them and when I need it. After all, they want a successful event, too. Telling them what is required to reach our goals is kind, not bossy.

How I balance selling for Norwex and spending time with myself, my family and my friends:
Balance is difficult. But this is true in every area of life. If you want to achieve balance, take time to decide what you want, and then make a plan to achieve it. Not having a plan often means I don’t get nearly as much accomplished — and don’t get to spend the time I would like with family and friends.

My favorite Norwex product is:
I would not want to live without several Norwex products. Of course the basic cleaning cloths are essential — but now I can’t even travel without my bath towels. I have long hair and hate drying it. Putting my hair in a super-absorbent Norwex turban lets me blow dry very quickly.

My favorite themed Norwex party: I don’t do themed parties.

How I like to spend my personal time: The thing I do the most outside of Norwex is open my home to others. Christian missionaries often find me and stay the night, and friends and family come over to swim and share meals. I don’t have the nicest things, and my home is definitely lived in — but none of that stops me from letting people in. I value people, and sharing time and space with them is one of the most rewarding things I am able to do.
