Through my work with Norwex, I’ve had the good fortune to meet the most incredible people. (I’m doubly blessed because so many of them collaborate with me on a daily basis as members of my Go Green Team!)

Independent Norwex Consultants come from cities, towns and villages from all corners of the country and all backgrounds. They find their way to Norwex for a variety of reasons. A concern for the environment, an interest in a healthy, sustainable lifestyle, a desire to save time and money on cleaning, or a need to earn income on a flexible schedule, may drive their decision to sign on.

The one thing we all have in common, though, is that we get so much more out of our experience than we ever expected including being part of a great community and having a lot of fun while sharing our passion for Norwex’s products and mission and creating safe havens.

If you are considering a career with Norwex, I encourage you to be inspired by the experiences shared by the consultants and leaders in the Go Green Team. You’ll find that they started out with the same concerns and questions you may have, and overcame them to build thriving businesses and change their lives.

My Journey

Name: Sarah Cartwright

Title within Norwex: Senior Executive Sales Leader

Where to find me online: www.CleanYourWayToGreen.com

How long I have worked as an independent Norwex consultant: 7 years

Where I live now, and where I’m originally from: I live in Savage, Minn., and originally from Inver Grove Heights, Minn.

How and why I started selling Norwex: Reluctantly, I went to a party hosted by a friend. I had decided I was not going to purchase anything, but I wound up buying a household pack and booked to host a party. While at my party, I was sitting next to my mother, and I guess was talking under my breath, adding to the selling points the Norwex consultant was making to my guests. “You should sell this, Sarah,” my mom whispered to me. “You really love the products, and you’re a natural.”

What has surprised me most in my Norwex journey: I have a deathly fear of selling anything and being in front of groups. Norwex has given me the confidence to do both of those things because I don’t feel as if I am selling anything. I am just sharing!

The most difficult challenge I have faced to get to where I am within Norwex — and how I overcame it: I wish I weren’t so self-doubting or prone to compare myself to others. When I focus on my goals, dreams and the missions of Norwex and the Green Team, I move forward in spite of myself.

The one piece of advice I have for a beginner consultant that I wish I’d had — or had taken more to heart: You do not have to know everything. You just need to get out there, have fun and help other people create safe havens. I have been selling Norwex products for seven years, and there are still things I don’t know. The continual learning makes this job fun and intellectually challenging.

How I balance selling for Norwex and time for myself, my family and my friends: This can be a tough one with four young girls. However, I view Norwex as a gift that allows me to be there for my children. It gives me the flexibility to go to their events and be there for them when they get home from school. I’m also a diligent scheduler who deliberately pencils in time for family and myself.

My favorite Norwex product: Just one? Yikes! There are so many — but if I must choose, I’m going with our top-selling Ultra Power Plus Laundry Detergent (and, OK, the dryer balls really come in a close second). Shortly after I started using them, my daughter’s breathing improved markedly, and doctors withdrew a diagnosis of asthma from her medical chart.

My favorite themed Norwex party: I love leading what I call my “VIP Customer Flash Sale. It is a fast-paced party format. Everyone is so engaged and having fun. It reenergizes me.

My favorite book: I love to read. My favorite book as of late would be A Man Called Ove. It is a touching story about the human spirit, and the power of moments and how the decisions we make in them can change the course of our lives.
