Through my work with Norwex, I’ve had the good fortune to meet the most incredible people. (I’m doubly blessed because so many of them collaborate with me on a daily basis as members of my Go Green Team!)

Independent Norwex Consultants come from cities, towns and villages from all corners of the country and all backgrounds. They find their way to Norwex for a variety of reasons. A concern for the environment, an interest in a healthy, sustainable lifestyle, a desire to save time and money on cleaning, or a need to earn income on a flexible schedule, may drive their decision to sign on.

The one thing we all have in common, though, is that we get so much more out of our experience than we ever expected including being part of a great community and having a lot of fun while sharing our passion for Norwex’s products and mission and creating safe havens.

If you are considering a career with Norwex, I encourage you to be inspired by the experiences shared by the consultants and leaders in the Go Green Team. You’ll find that they started out with the same concerns and questions you may have, and overcame them to build thriving businesses and change their lives.

How long I’ve been with the company: Just over three months!

Where I live now, and where I’m originally from: I live in Palmyra, Missouri, which is just 12 miles east of where I grew up — Philadelphia, Missouri.

How I started selling Norwex: I started selling Norwex after I was convinced to attend a party (somewhat unwillingly, I have to admit). After that, I hosted my own party. I turned down the opportunity to be a consultant several times until one of my best friends, who is also a consultant and now my recruiter, texted me and basically said: “You HAVE to sell Norwex. I’ve made so much money in just two weeks.” So, honestly, I started selling Norwex because of the money. I mean, I knew that I LOVED what Norwex stands for and all of the products, but I had failed at selling for two other direct sales companies previously and it just wasn’t appealing to try again. Now, I know it is so much more than money. It’s safer homes. It’s meeting new people. It’s taking care of God’s creation. It’s something that lifts me up and provides income.

What I have found most surprising during my Norwex journey: The generosity that comes from Norwex. I am constantly blown away by the products that I receive for free and the rewards that are offered to our hostesses. It goes to prove that the company really is focused on creating safer havens. It’s not just about making a profit. Norwex cares about the planet, people and building lasting relationships.

What has been the most difficult challenge? Reaching out to people can be hard. I consider myself an extrovert, but for some reason when it comes to sales I cower a little bit. I finally told myself: “You love these products. You believe in them. They have been life-changing for you. JUST SHARE THE MESSAGE.” I keep reminding myself that the worst thing that can happen is that I get no response or a “No thank you.” I am SO much better at it now….not afraid at all!

Advice that I wish I had had, or had taken more to heart, as a beginner consultant: FOLLOW UP. I did not listen well to that advice. I was all, “Ehhh, I’ll be fine.” I was fine, but I could have been even better at this job had I taken that more seriously. Now I make sure to always follow up when I talk to someone about Norwex and it’s been so helpful to my business.

How do I balance selling Norwex and spending time with family and friends? I’ll admit that I am not very good at this. I am getting better, though. I try to do my Norwex work during the kids’ naptime and before bed. I try to keep my Saturdays free for family and friends. I think it is all about being organized. If you have a routine and take the time to follow it, it is easier to have control over your time.

My favorite Norwex product: I always cringe at this question! All of them? Haha! The EnviroCloth is obviously my go-to for just about everything and probably what I use the most. BUT, I really, really love my mop. I always say “I am truly, madly, deeply in love with my mop system. He’s amazing.” I loved mopping — even before Norwex. But, I did not love spending money on floor cleaner constantly or trying to find the right mop for my 100-year-old hardwoods or the time that it took to do it. Now, I am happy to  invite someone to stomp their dirty shoes all over my floors so I can go grab my mop, use a little water, and BOOM immediate, beautiful, and chemical-free satisfaction!

My favorite themed party: I signed on as a consultant shortly after having a baby, so I have only done one in-home party and that was not themed.

How I spend my free time: My favorite hobby is photography. I have been taking photos with a DSLR camera for about seven years now. I do it casually but also as a small business. I love how it exercises the creative side of my brain. It is so relaxing for me.
